A gallery off of the exhibition hosts a halpfipe, conceived as a room within a room. The halfpipe is a representation of the halpipes that appear in the skate videos Cheese and Crackers (2006) and Tea and Biscuits (2020). Through adaptive use of objects not intended for skateboarding—a tire, a door, a curtain, a teapot, etc—these videos capture the plastic perception of the built environment that the skating promotes. Plasticity is at the heart of design, which is why skateboarding as a powerful metaphor for design.
